The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is seeking a motivated and dynamic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its growing team of providers. The selected candidate will partner with a robust team to cover overnight inpatient services. The candidate will be trained in all facets of pediatric neurosurgery. Once trained, responsibilities will include first assistance for overnight surgical cases, receiving inpatient and emergency room consults, leading morning rounds and supporting readiness for discharges including patient teaching. Common clinical presentations include craniofacial conditions, craniosynostosis, hydrocephalous, spinda bifida, cerebral palsy, chiari malformation, brain and spinal cord tumors. The ideal candidate should have at least one (1) year experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in pediatrics or neurosciences. New graduates passionate about neurosciences are encouraged to apply. Nurse Practitioner candidates must have a national Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification or seven (7) years inpatient APRN experience in pediatric neurosciences. Physician Assistant candidates must have a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or Master’s equivalent) from an ARC-PA accredited program and possess a Physician Assistant Certification. A BLS and PALS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.

Schedule requirements are seven (7) nights on/ seven (7) nights off, with holiday coverage. This is a full-time employed position that offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
