The Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute at Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a BE/BC critical care physician for a fellow position. The fellowship is a one-year, non-ACGME program that will provide exposure to all aspects to care for cardiac surgery patients, including mechanical circulatory support devices (Impella, RVAD, LVAD, Protek Duo, and Tandem Heart), advanced heart failure patients, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and heart transplant. The Cardiac Intensivist Fellow will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team learning to co-manage a 19-bed Cardiac and Vascular Intensive Care Unit. Memorial Healthcare System’s CVICU and Cardiac Surgery team have maintained the highest possible ranking for patient outcomes over the past 10 years. The Intensivist is an integral part of the esteemed cardiac team and will work closely with other Memorial physicians including cardiac surgeons, cardiac anesthesiologists, interventional cardiologists, adult cardiac congenital cardiologists, and heart failure cardiologists.
Applicants eligible for this fellowship include those graduated from an accredited medical school. Those who are foreign graduates must hold a valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Furthermore, applicants must have completed an ACGME-approved residency and fellowship in Internal Medicine-Critical Care Medicine, Anesthesia Critical Care Medicine, or Surgical Critical Care Medicine.
Successful candidates will have excellent clinical skills, a broad knowledge base in critical care and provide high-quality evidence-based care.
This is a full-time employed position with the multi-specialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
