The Cardiac & Vascular Institute at Memorial Healthcare System is seeking an experienced and motivated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team on a staff relief (per diem) basis. The selected candidate will collaborate with a team of vascular surgery specialists to provide treatment in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Responsibilities will include assisting with clinic duties such as seeing patients, completing office notes, and assisting in office procedures when necessary. If inpatient coverage is needed, the selected provider will be responsible for chart reviews and rounding on patients with the attending physician.
The ideal candidate must have at least five (5) years of vascular surgery experience in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Nurse Practitioner candidates must have a national Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification. Physician Assistant candidates must have a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or Master’s equivalent) from an ARC-PA accredited program and possess a Physician Assistant Certification. A BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.
This is a per diem position that offers professional malpractice and medical liability covered under sovereign immunity.

The Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute (MCVI) is the regional market leader in cardiovascular services. The MCVI has an extensive multidisciplinary team that provides cardiovascular care of the highest quality for pediatric and adult patients in our community. The adult cardiac surgery program currently has three adult cardiac surgeons aided by a dedicated cardiac surgery team which includes anesthesia, OR nursing, CVICU critical care physicians, and CVICU nursing. The MCVI cardiac surgery program has the highest volume in Broward County and second highest in South Florida. Additionally, the MCVI has a track record of high-quality care and excellence in patient outcomes. The MCVI has a strong commitment to provide state-of-the-art advanced heart failure care to our community, which includes separate clinical teams to provide pediatric and adult heart failure care. The adult advanced heart failure team provides heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support services including all FDA-approved implantable long-term devices and temporary support devices. A busy adult ECMO program provides critical care/ECMO transport services with deployment of ECMO by our team at referring facilities.
