MEDICAL DIRECTOR, PEDIATRIC PALLIATIVE CARE

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is seeking a pediatric palliative care physician to lead our growing, interdisciplinary team as Medical Director of Pediatric Palliative Care. Candidates should be board-certified in pediatric palliative care or in a pediatric subspecialty with pediatric palliative care training, with preference for candidates with five or more years of experience.

The current palliative care program, currently going on its fourteenth year, includes three full-time pediatric palliative care physicians, two advanced practice providers, a palliative care counselor, two chaplains, integrative therapy practitioners (specializing in music, art, yoga, exercise, massage, and aroma therapy services) and a child life specialist. Services include inpatient consults, outpatient clinic visits, primary management of pediatric hospice patients as well as a growing perinatal program. In addition to research resources and support offered through the Office of Human Research, teaching opportunities will also be available through our pediatric residency program.

This is a full-time employed position with the multispecialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.

The eight-story, nearly 400,000-square-foot, environmentally friendly facility features state-of-the-art patient rooms, cardiac hybrid operating rooms, surgical and interventional radiology suites, intensive care and cardiac intensive care units, intraoperative MRI, family resource and respite spaces, ambulatory services, imaging services that feature a CT scanner disguised as a pirate ship, and inpatient and outpatient pediatric oncology treatment.
