About Memorial Transplant Institute

Memorial Transplant Institute is the only center in Broward County to offer kidney transplants to both adults and children. In 2017, with federal approval from UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing), Memorial Transplant Institute launched the adult kidney transplant program with pediatric transplant capabilities at Memorial Regional Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, FL. The Institute established a living donor kidney recovery component, including open and laparoscopic nephrectomies. The program offers cadaveric and living donor kidney transplants. The newly launched a pancreas transplant program is the only one in Broward County to offer patients with diabetes and other related conditions a chance at a new life with a healthy pancreas.
